Seikodo Bookstore Story – From Textbooks to Postcards

【Reiwa 8 Special Exhibition】
Seikodo Bookstore was a books-and-stationery shop located in present-day Taira, Iwaki City, from the Meiji period to the early Showa era. In addition to selling books, it published picture postcards and local materials, contributing to the promotion of regional culture.
This exhibition presents its history through books published by Seikodo and materials preserved by the 関内 family who managed the bookstore.

■ Talk “The History of the Managers, the 関内 Family — Focusing on the Edo Period —”

Content: A talk on the history of the 関内 family, who operated Seikodo Bookstore.

■ Special Program “吹風殿寄席”

Performers: 山椒家小粒さん、武相亭八木助さん、紫蘇亭小夏さん
Content: Amateur rakugo performers active in Iwaki City are invited to present classical rakugo.
